Welcome to this edition of Special Interest Group 12, Perspectives on Augmentative and Alternative Communication!
We welcome and thank our authors for the April topics. This issue of Perspectives begins with Sally Vermilya and Lizbeth Curme Stevens sharing A Guide for Enhancing Patient and Caregiver Communication. In keeping with the theme of adult AAC, we present Christopher Crema and Nicole Moran with their article Training Speech Language Clinicians of Adult Clients on the Implementation of AAC Into Everyday Practice. The next article by Yoosun Chung, Michael Behrmann, Brenda Bannan, and Eva Thorp is called Perspectives of High Tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication Users With Cerebral Palsy at the Post-Secondary Level. Next, Michael Williams, David Beukelman, and Cara Ullman share the world of text messaging for social networking in AAC Text Messaging. In the final article, Ashley Alliano, Kimberly Herriger, Anthony Koutsoftas, and Theresa Bartolotta provide a platform for evaluating iPad applications with A Review of 21 iPad Applications for Augmentative and Alternative Communication Purposes.
