Welcome to another issue of Perspectives on AAC. This issue is devoted to providing an update on AAC within the international community. Rose Sevcik, a past Division 12 Coordinator, served as the Guest Editor for this series of articles. This issue should provide you with a “perspective” of AAC from selected areas around the world. I want to thank Rose and her authors for sharing this information with us.
Our congratulations to Solomon Rakhman for being selected as the 2002 Edwin and Esther Prentke AAC Distinguished Lecturer. A reprint of the lecture that Mr. Rakhman delivered at the ASHA National Convention in Atlanta is presented in this issue. Solomon’s lecture was inspiring and he is an excellent role-model for individuals using AAC systems.
