As the parent of a child with a physical disability, I have watched as over the years my daughter has faced many obstacles on her journey toward independence. Life has been an uphill struggle, and it is with great pride that I can say she has always met the challenges put before her. Jen has looked at problems as resolved opportunities, which has enabled her to put things into a perspective she could handle.
Last May, Jen was beset with the biggest challenge of her life so far. With college behind her and the world in front of her, it was time to take that giant step of job seeking. She had worked very hard to gain the education she needed to be considered employable, and she now had to convince perspective employers that she was “the right person for the job.” But what jobs were out there and which ones would Jen be qualified to do?
