Hello Division 12 affiliates. In January, I officially assumed the role of Division Coordinator. We said our “thank you” during the recent Leadership Conference to Rose Sevcik, who was Division 12 Coordinator for the last 3 years and a Steering Committee member for several years previous to that. Rose has provided excellent leadership for our division. During her tenure as Coordinator, Rose has guided Division 12 through three Leadership Conferences and has been a driving force behind our Continuing Education and document revision efforts. I only had the privilege of working with Rose during her last year on the Steering Committee, but I knew that there was a tremendous amount of work going on behind the scenes. One reason why I was so hesitant in taking this position is that I knew that I would have a hard act to follow. We also said our “thank you” to Tracy Kovach, who was the Division Associate Coordinator. Both Rose and Tracy have promised that they will help me through this first year while I learn the various responsibilities of the Coordinator and the Division Steering Committee. Therefore, we did not say “good-bye” to Rose or Tracy because we know that they will continue to be active Division 12 affiliates. As a matter of fact, we already have assigned them the duties of continuing to help us update our “ASHA family of documents.”
